ALPHA CHI PHILANTHROPY
The Alpha Chi Omegas history is rooted in generosity, compassion and commitment to our sisters and the greater good.
The 1992 Alpha Chi Omega National Convention marked the adoption of domestic violence awareness, an issue that affects women all over the world, as our national philanthropy. Together, we work to fight against unhealthy relationships and build healthy relationships. Members serve individuals and families impacted by domestic violence through fundraising and sharing gifts of time and talent with shelters and other service-providing organizations. Alpha Chi Omega also works to educate its own members, giving them tools to build their own healthy relationships, and to raise awareness of domestic violence by educating others on its impact and work being done to end it.
In Lincoln we work with a local shelter, The Friendship Home, to provide for things that the women and children in our area might not otherwise have.
RAISING THE ROOF
Xi Chapter does various fundraisers throughout the year, including, "Raising the Roof", partnered with FarmHouse, where we raised over $13,000 for The Friendship Home this year! Check out our remake of Beyonce's, "7/11" music video at this year's Raising the Roof event!
IN THE EYES OF ALPHA CHI'S
This philanthropy is a formal dinner event with our parents and alumni where we participate in activities, eat delicious food and listen to various speakers. All funds are donated to The Friendship Home, our local domestic violence shelter.
WALK A MILE IN HER SHOES
A philanthropy Alpha Chi participates in every other fall. We partner with the men of Delta Tau Delta to raise awareness for domestic violence victims and The Friendship Home.
